There are many ways to retrieve authentic and dependable information using the internet. Search engines help us find the information we need, and with search engine algorithms increasing in complexity each year, the information we find is becoming more reliable than ever before. Web directories help to categorize web resources by topic to permit us to find what we need without using a search engine. Internet web browsers are the primary tools we use to view the content of the internet. The following are lists for search engines, specialized search engines, web directories, and web browsers. The list is not definitive as new search engines, web directories, and web browsers are constantly entering the market for the community to use. The search engines list contains many general search engines, search engines that compile searches from major search engines, as well as a few video search engines. Many specialized search engines that cover topics ranging from health to engineering are available within the niche search engines list. A mix of both specialized and general web directories are available in the web directories list. Various web browsers for PC, MAC, UNIX, and mobile devices are available in the web browsers list.
